Summit School District is proud to support the Pre-Collegiate Development Program
at Summit High School and Summit Middle School. 
What is Summit Pre-Collegiate?
The Pre-Collegiate Development Program is a partnership between the school district, local universities, and community partners designed to assist and encourage first generation college students in their quest to graduate high school and continue with post-secondary education.    
Who is eligible to participate?
Summit School District Students in grades 6-12 who:
  • would be a first-generation college student (neither parent graduated from a 4-year institution)
  • maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • are academically motivated
  • have a desire to continue his/her education beyond high school


What do we do?

The PCDP offers support and new opportunities to students and parents in a variety of ways:

  • Attend college tours and fairs around the state
  • After-school tutoring
  • Learn from mentors in the community
  • Parent meetings to educate parents on available post-secondary opportunities
  • Summer day & overnight programs at Colorado Mountain College and the University of Colorado at Boulder
  • SAT & ACT test prep
  • Assistance writing college essays
  • REACH classes to guide students through college applications and the financial aid process
  • Spanish/English bilingual support
