Please join us Thursday, September 22, for Snowy Peaks High School's 1st Quarter Potluck! Snowy Peaks students will be preparing food, but we welcome you to being a small dish to share.  This is a drop-in event from 3:30-7:30pm, but parents may sign up for a schedule time to meet with Mr. Smith (not required). There are many exciting changes on the horizon at Snowy Peaks, and limited spots remain for the 2016-2017 school year.  We're currently accepting applications for new students to join the school.  If you are interested in attending Snowy Peaks High School, please schedule an appointment with Principal Jim Smith as soon as possible, as well as complete the online Student Application found below.

Summer /Fall Schedule
We look forward to a great 2016-2017 school year!  The high school office will be closed for the summer beginning June 22 and will re-open on August 2.  However, if you have any questions, please feel free to call Principal Jim Smith at any time this summer at 970-389-8828.
Registration support will occur on Wednesday, August 17 from 2:30-6:30pm at the Central Administration building. 
The first day of school is Monday, August 22, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  
School photos will be taken during the school day on Wednesday, August 24 at Snowy Peaks High School.  Students will receive order forms in class on the first day of school. 
Enjoy the rest of the summer, and we look forward to seeing you in August!

Welcome to Snowy Peaks High School!  

Snowy Peaks High School is Summit School District's Innovation Learning high school option for students.  We pride ourselves on creating a student-centered learning community that provides an individualized experience for all students. SPHS teachers have a relentless focus on learning, while developing strong bonds with all students.


In order to provide students with the tools they need to be successful and effective citizens in the 21st Century, the SPHS staff promises unwavering devotion to the success of our students, especially in the following areas:


    • We will teach the whole child, focusing on Academics, Character, Community, and Nature.
    • We will create a relationship-based environment, where every student feels supported.
    • We will give every student an individualized education and do whatever it takes to see every child thrive.
    • We will have a relentless focus on learning.  As educators, we will embrace a growth mindset.
    • We will prepare all students for Post-Secondary success and help them pursue education after high school.   


To best accomplish these goals, Snowy Peaks is currently implementing a Blended Learning instructional model, focusing on a personalized educational experience, individual support, project-based learning, and building 21st Century skills.
